Richard Montgomery's loss came about despite a quality game from Anthony Dixon jr, who threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dixon jr is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. Tavares Vaughn-cooper also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Gaithersburg entered their tilt with Rockville with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Gaithersburg claimed a resounding 48-21 victory over Rockville at home. The result was nothing new for Gaithersburg, who have now won five games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Richard Montgomery has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Gaithersburg, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Richard Montgomery couldn't quite finish off Gaithersburg in their previous meeting back in August of 2022 and fell 32-30. Can Richard Montgomery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
