The Sioux County Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Oelrichs at home to the tune of 55-24. The win was some much needed relief for Sioux County as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Sioux County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Skavdahl, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Skavdahl hasn't dropped below 13 rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cy Hughson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Sioux County's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Oelrichs, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sioux County will challenge the Rams on Tuesday. Oelrichs will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Moguls at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Edgemont is ranked 154th, while the Tigers are ranked 157th).
