The Elmwood Royals will face off against the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elmwood 3.8, Perrysburg 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Perrysburg will be up against a hot Elmwood squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Royals walked away with a 9-5 win over Genoa Area on Saturday.
Gabe Schafer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Elmwood let Landon Snow and Marshal Taft run wild. Snow went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Taft went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave Taft a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Perrysburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bryan, sneaking past 9-8. With that victory, the Yellow Jackets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Brayden Heitmeyer was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Braxton Mefferd, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Elmwood's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Perrysburg, they moved to 15-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Elmwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Perrysburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Elmwood couldn't quite get it done against Perrysburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Will the Royals have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
