The Highland Bulldogs had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past St. Teresa 60-27 on the road. The result was nothing new for Highland, who have now won eight matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why St. Teresa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaccarion Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Highland's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for St. Teresa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Highland will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mt. Vernon at 1:00 p.m. St. Teresa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
