Valders has gone a perfect 4-0 against Wrightstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Valders has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Wrightstown will arrive with four straight victories.
On Thursday, Valders came up short against Crivitz and fell 8-5.
Megan Hochkammer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke O'Connor, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Thursday. Wrightstown was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Howards Grove. The result was nothing new for Wrightstown, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Layla Beyer was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Charlie Bowker, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Wrightstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .361 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Valders' loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Wrightstown, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
Wrightstown's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Valders has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Wrightstown, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will Valders keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Valders skirted past Wrightstown 4-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
