APPLE VALLEY, Calif. -
Hesperia (Calif.) took an early lead against Granite Hills (Apple Valley, Calif.) and held on for a 60-12 victory on Saturday.
The Scorpions put up 21 points in the opening frame. Hesperia scored on a passing touchdown, a touchdown catch by
Deangelo Wooley and a passing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, HHS was up 40-6 at the half.
The Scorpions grew their lead to 47 points entering the fourth quarter. Hesperia scored two times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
HHS avenged last year's 26-10 loss to the Cougars with the victory.
Granite Hills (0-2) goes up against Sultana in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Hesperia (2-0) locks horns with Victor Valley also in a non-conference game.
