Josey is 0-10 against Laney since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Josey Eagles will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Laney Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Josey comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Josey was beaten by Washington County 90-54. While losing is never fun, Josey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Washington County is ranked 202nd).
Meanwhile, Laney had just enough and edged Irmo out 54-52 on Friday.
Josey bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Laney, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Josey ended up a good deal behind Laney when the teams last played back in February, losing 55-40. Can Josey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
