Irmo is 1-6 against the Redhawks since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Irmo Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westwood Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Irmo, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-35 loss to the Blazers. While losing is never fun, Irmo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Blazers are ranked 20th).
Irmo's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Claire Howard, who scored 14 points along with four blocks, and Abby Livingston who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Westwood came up short against the Blazers on Friday and fell 49-39.
Irmo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Westwood, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.
