The Pendleton Heights Arabians pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-57 to Lawrence Central. While losing is never fun, Pendleton Heights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Lawrence Central is ranked first).
Despite the loss, Pendleton Heights still got an impressive performance from Kaycie Warfel, who scored 28 points along with six steals. The matchup was Warfel's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Aubree Warfel was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Pendleton Heights and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Lawrence Central, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pendleton Heights will be home for the holidays to greet Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Yorktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. Lawrence Central will be home for the holidays to greet New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
