The Williams Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern Alamance. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (56), Williams still had to take the loss.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Milton Turner, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Turner hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarion Richmond, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Eastern Alamance's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Matthews, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ja'vier Tinnin, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Williams' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Eastern Alamance, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Williams will play host again and welcome Western Alamance, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western Alamance is coming into the contest with four straight losses on the road, meaning Williams will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Eastern Alamance, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Eastern Alamance's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 16 games.
