OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. - After two lead changes,
Lake Cormorant (Miss.) took the lead for good when
Bailey Walker thew a touchdown to
Brandon Wright with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Lewisburg (Olive Branch, Miss.) 27-21 on Saturday.
Lake Cormorant saw its 14-point halftime lead decrease to seven entering the fourth.
The win was a nice bounce back for LC, which lost to Saltillo last week, 32-13. The defeat comes as a step back for Lewisburg, who notched a 31-28 victory over Center Hill in its previous outing. The loss broke Lewisburg's two-game winning streak.
In a 5A Region 1 game next week Lewisburg (2-3) takes on Oxford, and Lake Cormorant (4-2) will go up against New Hope also in a 5A Region 1 game.
