Mountain Home is 3-0 against Van Buren since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mountain Home Bombers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Van Buren Pointers at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Mountain Home is ranked 33rd, while Van Buren is ranked 36th).
Mountain Home never got on the board in their matchup on October 6th, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Siloam Springs last Friday. They breezed by the Panthers on the road to the tune of 51-14. With Mountain Home ahead 44-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Chris Hubbard had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Yates, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.3% of his passes.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-3, which was the final score in Van Buren's tilt against Little Rock Christian Academy on Friday. Van Buren has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mountain Home's win lifted them to 4-4 while Van Buren's loss dropped them down to 3-5.
Mountain Home won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, slipping by Van Buren 43-42. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Van Buren's Malachi Henry, who picked up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Mountain Home to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
