Everything went their way against the Easthampton/Hampshire Eagles on Friday as they made off with a 17-9 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hornets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Hayden Barrett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of McCann Tech's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't).
