After a string of three wins, the Trimble Tomcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 61-54 to Nelsonville-York. Trimble lost against Nelsonville-York in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-37 score last time.
Nelsonville-York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keagan Swope, who scored 20 points along with eight steals and seven assists. The match was Swope's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Briant Call, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Trimble's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Nelsonville-York, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Trimble will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Paint Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Nelsonville-York, they will head out on the road to face off against River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
