Last Thursday, Marlboro Academy was the victim of a tough 63-38 defeat at the hands of Pee Dee Academy. While losing is never fun, Marlboro Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Pee Dee Academy is ranked 46th).
Meanwhile, Christ the Cornerstone Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 55-49 to Mintz Christian Academy.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from LANDON WYCKOFF, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was MAC HUNT, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Marlboro Academy to 3-3 and Pee Dee Academy to 2-0.
Marlboro Academy beat Christ the Cornerstone Academy 53-45 in their previous meeting back in November. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Christ the Cornerstone Academy's MICAH WYCKOFF, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
