The Silver Fighting Colts's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past Socorro 56-27 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Silver has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver to victory, but perhaps none more so than Juliana Kirker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyssa Torres, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
Silver's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Socorro, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Silver will be playing at home against Cobre at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Socorro, they will head out on the road to square off against Magdalena at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Magdalena presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Socorro in New Mexico (Magdalena is ranked 45th, while Socorro is ranked 131st).
