VALENCIA, Calif. -
Blake Rutherford ran for two touchdowns and
Cory Watkins added two as well as
Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.) beat
Valencia (Calif.) 56-34 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Rutherford touchdown run in the first quarter, the Eagles were up 28-20 at the half.
Chaminade expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored three times in the third, including once on a
Ben Kreitenberg touchdown pass to

The Eagles also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 14-10.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Chaminade, which was coming off a 55-54 defeat at the hands of Hart in its previous game. The loss comes after Valencia defeated Palmdale 29-20 last week.
Valencia (1-1) goes up against Righetti in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Chaminade (2-1) locks horns with Oaks Christian also in a non-conference game.
