It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Bay City Blackcats had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by North Forest on the road to the tune of 62-21. Considering Bay City has won five contests by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Bay City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Estrada, who threw for 284 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Xylan Williams, who picked up 171 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Despite the loss, North Forest still got an impressive performance from Clinton Babineaux, who rushed for 152 yards on only 15 carries, and also threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns. Delwen Russell was another key contributor, picking up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bay City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for North Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Bay City will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Kilgore at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Kilgore will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. North Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
