Swain County is a perfect 10-0 against Andrews since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Maroon Devils will challenge the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Swain County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Swain County hadn't beaten Tuscola on the road since March 14, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Maroon Devils came out on top against the Mountaineers by a score of 10-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Maroon Devils.
Aria Toineeta made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hadley Shuler, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Bird, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Andrews was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hiwassee Dam. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Wildcats' highest-scoring contest to date.
Kaiya Ellis and Chloe Patterson did some serious damage despite the final result: Ellis went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Patterson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That triple was Ellis' first of the season.
Swain County's record now sits at 8-2. As for Andrews, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Andrews' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Swain County has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Andrews, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Swain County's sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Swain County got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Andrews by a conclusive 19-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroon Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
