The Cocoa Tigers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 76-31 defeat at the hands of Rockledge. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cocoa in their matchups with Rockledge: they've now lost six in a row.
Travon Graves and Dontay Williams certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Graves scored ten points along with seven rebounds, while Williams scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Ryan Blount was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Rockledge. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blount has scored all season. Terrence Shannon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Cocoa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Rockledge, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Cocoa on the road again on Friday and play against Titusville at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Rockledge, they will be playing at home against Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Astronaut's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
