Basketball Recap: Stuart W. Cramer Takes a Loss

If Stuart W. Cramer was riding high fresh off their 76-46 takedown of West Lincoln last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Storm took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincolnton Wolves on Thursday. The Storm have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Stuart W. Cramer still got an impressive performance from Gavin Jordan, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 17 points along with eight boards and five steals. Jordan is becoming a predictor of the Storm's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Dye, who posted 11 points.

Josiah Guyton had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds for Lincolnton. Guyton is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. Tucker Robinette was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Stuart W. Cramer now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Lincolnton, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Coming up, Stuart W. Cramer and Highland Tech will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Rams have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Lincolnton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
