Jefferson got a great performance from Eric Chavez as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Chavez a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Aiden Urdiales was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jefferson is 4-1 when Urdiales posts two or more runs, but 3-7-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Benavidez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lanier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Highlands, falling 9-2.
