The South Garner Titans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 75-52 margin over Southeast Raleigh. This was payback for South Garner, who suffered a 70-56 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Najai Hines, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Loddie Leach was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
South Garner is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
South Garner will head out on the road to take on Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Garner knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Cleveland likes a good challenge. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Garner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Garner's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
