The Sierra Vista Dons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 36-22 fall against Montclair. Despite 131 more yards than Montclair, Sierra Vista couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Sierra Vista's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gabriel Garcia, who rushed for 156 yards, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Cyron Mcadams, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Anthony Cervantes went supernova for Montclair, rushing for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 47 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Avila, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Sierra Vista's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for Montclair, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Sierra Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Montclair will be playing in front of their home fans against Garey at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Garey is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
