Make it 14 blowout wins for the Eastwood Troopers this season. They claimed a resounding 64-16 win over Coronado on the road. 64 seems to be a good number for Eastwood as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Eastwood's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amaya Williams, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Morales, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Coronado struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eastwood racked up 22 assists.
Eastwood is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Coronado, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastwood will take on Socorro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Socorro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 958th, while Eastwood is ranked 153rd). As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to challenge El Dorado at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Dorado is on a four-game streak of home losses, Coronado a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
