South Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the West Central Trojans 73-30. One positive for the Rebels, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madisyn DeMoss, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. DeMoss is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played. Sydney Mellon was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 13 points and five steals.

South Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for West Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

South Newton will take on Attica in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. South Newton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for West Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-43 win against Delphi Community on the 14th.
