If Ozanam were riding high off their 55-31 takedown of the Kansas School for the Deaf Jackrabbits last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ozanam had to suffer through a rough 59-31 loss at the hands of the Lions. Ozanam was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Ozanam's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Talan Olmstead, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Zaireion Nicholson who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Olmstead is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
Leading The Daniel Academy to victory were Chris W and Jesse Yap. W dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Yap scored 23 points along with six steals. It was the first time this season that Yap grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowen S, who scored eight points.
Ozanam's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for The Daniel Academy, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-4.
Ozanam will head out on the road to take on the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Daniel Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the at 6:30 p.m. Training Center Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
