After flying high against the Greenbrier West Cavaliers on Tuesday, the Wyoming East Warriors came back down to earth. Wyoming East ended up on the wrong side of a rough 75-52 walloping at the hands of Greenbrier East on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wyoming East has scored all season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyndal Lusk, who scored 14 points. Maddie Clark was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Wyoming East's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Greenbrier East, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyoming East won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bluefield at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Bluefield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Wyoming East is ranked third). Greenbrier East will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grafton at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
