After flying high against the Southview Cougars on Friday, the Napoleon Wildcats came back down to earth. Napoleon might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Bryan an easy 52-31 win. While losing is never fun, Napoleon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Bryan is ranked 58th).
When it comes to explaining why Napoleon lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Ella Tassler. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with six blocks and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Kruse, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Napoleon struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Napoleon's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Bryan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Napoleon will be home for the holidays to greet Ottawa-Glandorf at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ottawa-Glandorf is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Bryan will take on Notre Dame Academy in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at.
