The Rickards Raiders won the last time they faced the Baker County Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went Rickards' way against Baker County as Rickards made off with a 61-39 victory. Given Rickards' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Baker County is ranked 651st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Rickards to victory were Benjamin Plummer and Romie Cosby. Plummer scored ten points, while Cosby scored 13 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Chadwick Ellenwood, who scored six points.
The win makes it two in a row for Rickards and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Baker County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Rickards will take on Treasure Coast in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Baker County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Yulee at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th.
