Brighton had lost eight straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-19 to make it nine. They lost 30-6 to the Olympus Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-7 back in March.
Cynthia Knowlton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Peyten Bowers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
As for Olympus, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Olympus' side, Jaedin Mugleston made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Mugleston was also stellar in the batter's box, going 5-for-6 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olympus let Sydney Birkeland and Mya Palcher run wild. Birkeland went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple, while Palcher went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Palcher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Comer, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Brighton is set to challenge their familiar foe Alta at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Olympus will face off against rival Woods Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
