The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs came into Thursday's game having lost 18 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 36-27 win over Traverse City HomeSchool on Thursday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Grand Traverse Academy has managed all season.
Weston Kinney was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Kinney, who scored six points along with six steals.
Grand Traverse Academy's win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-15. As for Traverse City HomeSchool, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Grand Traverse Academy will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Traverse City HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th.
