If Fruita Monument wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Overland, they should've done a better job of containing Demetrius Lambert. The Trailblazers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 65-53 on Thursday thanks in part to Lambert, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 14 rebounds. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Defeat or not, Fruita Monument got some senior leadership from Jhett Wells and Josh Huskey. Wells posted 21 points along with eight steals and five boards, while Huskey almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Huskey also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 50%. Meyer Johnston also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Overland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Fruita Monument, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Overland has already played their next matchup, a 43-42 defeat against Valor Christian on the 12th. As for Fruita Monument, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-36 victory against Westminster on the 12th.
