The East Coweta Indians were the 57-53 winner over the Whitewater Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. East Coweta took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitewater. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (60), East Coweta still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, East Coweta still got an impressive performance from Qwes Williams, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carby Martin, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for East Coweta and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Whitewater, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
East Coweta is on the road again on Saturday and play against Sandy Creek at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th. Sandy Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully East Coweta likes a good challenge. As for Whitewater, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Atlanta Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Southwest Atlanta Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 505th, while Whitewater is ranked 100th).
