Meanwhile, Firestone hadn't done well against Ellet recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Luke Rhamy looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Bufford, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Firestone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Stow-Munroe Falls' record now sits at 6-7. As for Firestone, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.
Stow-Munroe Falls couldn't quite get it done against Firestone when the teams last played back in May of 2019 as they fell 6-2. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
