Basketball Game Preview: Aucilla Christian Warriors vs. Franklin County Seahawks

Aucilla Christian is 4-0 against Franklin County since November of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Aucilla Christian Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Franklin County Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. Franklin County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Aucilla Christian, who comes in off a win.

Franklin County is hoping to do what St. John Lutheran couldn't two weeks ago: put an end to Aucilla Christian's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Aucilla Christian breezed by St. John Lutheran to the tune of 53-15. The team ran away with 41 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Aucilla Christian found their leader in sophomore Avery Emerick, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. Emerick is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamrynn Johnson, who posted 12 points and five assists.

Aucilla Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 21 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Franklin County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. 2025 welcomed they with a 44-18 loss courtesy of North Bay Haven Academy.

Aucilla Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points per game. As for Franklin County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Aucilla Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Franklin County when the teams last played back in January of 2020, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aucilla Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
