The Centralia Tigers suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2023 on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-28 walloping at the hands of Black Hills. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Centralia in their matchups with Black Hills: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Black Hills to victory were Ava Klovas and Tyler Venable. Klovas dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Venable scored 15 points along with six steals and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Venable posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Johnson, who scored no points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Centralia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Black Hills, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Centralia will head out on the road to challenge WF West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. WF West is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Black Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tumwater at 6:00 p.m.
