Wausau West and Marshfield are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Wausau West Warriors will be playing at home against the Marshfield Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Wausau West strolled past Wausau East with points to spare, taking the game 63-47. With that victory, Wausau West brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Wausau West got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Harper Mead out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Kray, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marshfield waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Stevens Point 53-37.
Wausau West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Marshfield, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Wausau West suffered a grim 71-50 defeat to Marshfield in their previous matchup back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wausau West was down 38-18.
