The Hillsborough Raiders lost against the Rutgers Prep Argonauts back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hillsborough took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rutgers Prep. It was the first time this season that Hillsborough let down their fans at home.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zion Harrison, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrison has scored all season. Jayden Green was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Hillsborough's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Rutgers Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will take on Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Hillsborough likes a good challenge. As for Rutgers Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Peter's Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
