The Sacred Heart of Jesus Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 78-69 to University School of Jackson. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was A J Morman, who scored 26 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Morman hasn't dropped below 20 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Andre Bell, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Mills Terry was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds for University School of Jackson. Terry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Brady Smith was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for University School of Jackson, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.
Sacred Heart of Jesus will head out on the road to face off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton-Rosemark Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for University School of Jackson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Trinity Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 627 points over their last nine matches.
