After flying high against the Avon Park Red Devils on Tuesday, the Lake Placid Dragons came back down to earth. Lake Placid fell just short of Clewiston by a score of 34-31. Lake Placid has struggled against Clewiston recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clewiston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyra Fields, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. Fields is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kalyn Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Lake Placid's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Clewiston, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Lake Placid will be home for the holidays to greet Victory Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Clewiston, they will head out on the road to face off against Avon Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon Park is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
