It was a good run, but the Sneads Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Marianna 88-55. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sneads in their matchups with Marianna: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Sneads lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nykavian Bradley. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. That was a full 41.8% of Sneads' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kurdiss Baker, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Marianna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Peace led the charge by scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peace has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tra'jan Spears, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Sneads' loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Marianna, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.
Sneads will head out on the road to square off against Paxton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marianna, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Graceville at 6:45 p.m. Graceville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Marianna is ranked 57th).
