Stanton is 1-6 against Reagan County since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Buffaloes will venture away from home to face off against the Owls at 7:00 p.m. Stanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
While Stanton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Non Varsity Opponent on Saturday as they made off with a 20-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buffaloes.

The team relied heavily on Mason Martinez, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Martinez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Erives, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Stanton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2025.
Fort Stockton hit Reagan County with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Owls lost 7-0 to the Panthers. The Owls have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Reagan County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Galindo, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Stanton's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Reagan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Reagan County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stanton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .467. It's a different story for Reagan County, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Stanton's hitters?
Stanton got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 against Reagan County by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
