The North Schuylkill Spartans will face off against the Danville Ironmen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Schuylkill is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
If North Schuylkill beats Danville with 15 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Spartans didn't even let Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the board on Wednesday, marking the Spartans' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brigid Flynn, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Lindsay Brouse was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
North Schuylkill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of Lourdes Regional only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Danville didn't have quite enough to beat Central Columbia on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The Ironmen have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Maclin Hickey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brynn Wilson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
North Schuylkill's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Schuylkill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .504. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Schuylkill couldn't quite finish off Danville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 8-6. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
