Cascade is 1-9 against Community since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Champions will venture away from home to face off against the Vikings/Viqueens at 5:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Cascade's victory against Tullahoma wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Champions narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 9-8. The Champions haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jocelyn Laughlin was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Laughlin was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Cascade got a massive performance out of Hunter Burt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Burt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makayla Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Community came tearing into Thursday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Rockets.
Taylar Wessner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carlie Blanton was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Community pushed their record up to 21-2-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Cascade, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Cascade suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Community when the teams last played last Monday. Can the Champions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
