The Christian Community Warriors's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against HEARTS for Jesus Christ by a score of 46-37. That's another feather in the cap for Christian Community, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Seth Roberts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe McQueen, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Despite the defeat, HEARTS for Jesus Christ saw an underclassman step up: Josh Aten scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Aten scored 15 or more points. Micah Stack was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Christian Community has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Christian Community will head out on the road to square off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. HEARTS for Jesus Christ won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lake Ridge Academy at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Lake Ridge Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
