The North Shore Mustangs and the Atascocita Eagles (ranked seven and 31 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game. North Shore was the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over Atascocita. The win was just business as usual for North Shore, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.
Despite the loss, Atascocita still got an impressive performance from Zion Brown, who threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Brown really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run.
North Shore's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.75 points. As for Atascocita, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Shore will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Deer Park at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. As for Atascocita, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
