Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Notre Dame Catholic Lancers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhawks.
Despite the loss, Notre Dame Catholic had strong showings from Antwan Davis, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and Raijon Pettway, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. Davis has been hot recently, having posted six or more solo tackles the last five times he's played.
Bloomfield had a senior duo take command as Davion Kerr gained 130 total yards and two touchdowns and Davien Kerr rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Kerr is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Notre Dame Catholic to a paltry 181 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bloomfield's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out five times before it was all said and done. Notre Dame Catholic's QB won't forget Kerr anytime soon given Kerr sacked him 3.5 times.
Notre Dame Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Bloomfield, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
Notre Dame Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bloomfield will square off against Cromwell/Portland at TBD on Saturday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Cromwell/Portland: 13.8, Bloomfield: 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
