Matthew Dees was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. He has become a key player for First Coast Christian: the team is 3-1-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other batting news, John Chacon was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of First Coast Christian's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-0-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Dylan Carpenter also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Cedar Creek Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for First Coast Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.
