Basketball Recap: Booker Falls Despite Big Games from Kyleigh Harrison and Gabriella Barton

After flying high against Darrouzett last Friday, Booker came back down to earth. The Booker Kiowas took a 40-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Follett Panthers on Wednesday. The Kiowas were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 46-35.

Despite the loss, Booker had strong showings from Gabriella Barton, who posted eight points and five rebounds, and Kyleigh Harrison, who put up eight points. Those eight points gave Barton a new career-high.

Leading Follett to victory were Shay Todd and Bristol Frame. Todd dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 steals, while Frame almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Follett is 2-1 when Todd posts five or more steals, but 2-14 otherwise. Tye Robison also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Booker's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Follett, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-15 record this season.

Booker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 28-24 win against Miami on the 24th. As for Follett, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 32-10 victory against Darrouzett on the 24th.
